Martin Porter

Managing Director, Retracom Group of Companies

Martin Porter is the Managing Director of Retracom Group of Companies. After Immigrating from Ireland in 1968 Martin started an apprenticeship as a Shipwright (ships carpenter) and is now a qualified builder. Martin started in the Insulated Panels Industry as an Installation Supervisor with Hunt & Baird in 1976. In 1986 Martin started his first company Omlaw Pty, trading as Insulated Panel Systems. In October of that same year Retracom purchased Martins business and Martin joined Retracom as Director and shareholder.

Martin’s innovative ideas have seen the introduction of new manufacturing capabilities within the family business and has ensured Retracom sets the industry standard. Martin is well respected within the Cold Storage and Insulated Panels industries and was given life membership of the RWTA (Refrigerated Warehouse & Transportation Association) in recognition of his commitment to the industry.

Martin has also been a driving force behind the conception of IPCA (Insulated Panel Council Australasia) and has a commitment to building safer insulated panels projects. Martin also has lobbied for a number of years to have a Modular Building industry group established and recently this became a reality with the Modular Building Industry Group being founded. Retracom’s experience in the construction of modular buildings will make Retracom a valuable voice within this industry.

Peter Stone

Chief Financial Officer, Retracom Group of Companies

CFO for the Retracom Group of Companies, appointed 2007. Peter’s role reports directly to the Board and has responsibility for all group accounting, commercialisation and IT support. Peter joined the Bondor Group in 1987 as accountant for it’s panel and hire (Pacesetter) businesses. 

The group was acquired by James Hardie in 1990. Peter computerised the commercial systems for the group. Peter was key in the successful acquisitions and integration of Portacom and Ausco. In 1999 the Bondor Group was divested and Peter oversaw the splitting of the accounts but remained with the Ausco portable building and hire business which was acquired by WACO, RSA. 

Before joining Retracom in 2007 Peter worked with both the Steel Storage Group and Agrichem.

Andrew Taylor

Business Development Manager, Retracom Group of Companies

Andrew is currently Business Development Manager for the Group but has held a variety of roles across the different business units in over 10 years with Retracom. 

In the early 2000’s, Andrew led the technical efforts of the EPS insulated panel industry (fore-runner to IPCA -Insulated Panel Council of Australia) and developed an extensive knowledge of alternate panel production and fire engineering test methods from travels throughout UK, Europe and Asia.

Most recently Andrew directed Transportable Building operations in the installation of workshops and office support facilities for around 200 construction staff at each of 5 Field Compressor Stations on the QCLNG Upstream Project in the Surat Basin. 

He is currently tasked with implementing new IT and integrated management systems to enhance service delivery and customer responsiveness.
